gil kerer

An independent dancer, performer and choreographer based in Tel Aviv. Professional work includes dancing in the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, Vertigo Dance Company, and with numerous Israeli independent choreographers, such as Niv Sheinfeld and Oren Laor, Maya Briner, Dana Ruttenberg Dance Group and Rachel Erdos, among many others. As an emerging choreographer, Gil has created the solo piece 'dive' together with Anat Cederbaum, which won the first prize in the choreography competition in the Machol Shalem Festival 2011 in Jerusalem and 3rd prize in ILDANCE choreography in Gothenburg in Sweeden. In 2012 created the piece 'Silent Parts', for 4 dancers, as an invitation from Machol Shalem Festival 2012. June 2014 saw the premiere of ‘Between Us’ - a duet for dancer Ayala Frenkel and himself, which performed as part of Dance Arena Festival in Jerusalem,and was invited to perform in Singapore, Spain, The Canary’s Islands, Italy, Russia and Denmark. Gil also teaches across a wide variety of dance platforms, focusing on contactimprovisation, contemporary dance classes, repertoire and movement research. Joined DRDG in 2013.

 

Andrea Costanzo Martini

Andrea Costanzo Martini is an Italian born dance and choreographer. He began his professional career as a Ballet Dancer in the Aalto Staats Theater Essen. He is a former member of the Batsheva Dance Company, where he performed works by Ohad Naharin and Sharon Eyal. He later joined the Cullberg Ballet in Stockholm where he performed the repertoire of Benoit Lachambre, Alexander Ekman, Crystal Pite, Jefta Van Dinter and Tillman O’Donnel. In 2012 he moved back to Israel where he joined the Inbal Pinto Dance company and started creating his own works.

In 2013 he was awarded First Prize for both dance and choreography at the International Stuttgart Solo Competition for the solo work “ What Happened in Torino”.

Since then he created (with the support of bodies like Pavillon Noir Aix-en-Provence, Tanzhaus Zürich, Lublin Centrum Kultury , Suzanne Dellal Center Tel Aviv, NOD Turin, Tmuna Theater Tel Aviv, Hateiva Theater and Teatro Piemonte Europa) the works: Tropical, Voglio Voglia, Filthy Guilty aaaaAAAAHHHH Trop, Scarabeo, Angels and The Void, Mood Shifters, and PayPer Play. 

In March 2022 he created the work "Wild thoughts" for NDCwales. The piece, now part of the company's repertoire, is currently touring throughout the U.K.
Parallel to this Andrea continues his activity as teacher (Gaga and improvisation) in Israel and abroad.

He is a member of the Israeli Choreographers Association and since 2019 an associated artist of Piemonte Dal Vivo.
 

INBAR NEMIROVSKY

Born Israel, 1978. Started dancing in Haya Tour dance school and graduated at the age 18 after which she began dancing with the young Kibbutz Company where she worked with Rami Beer and Inbal Pinto. Former member of Batsheva Dance Company, where she worked with Ohad Naharin, Paul Norton, Matz Ek, and Sharon Eyal. Since 2005 has worked in independent projects with Yasmeen Godder, Ronit Ziv, Renana Raz, Barak Marshall, Niv Sheinfeld, Noa Shadur, Hillel Kogan and Dana Ruttenberg.

 

IDAN PORGES

Born in Kiryat Bialik in 1983, Idan is a graduate of Wizo High School of the Arts. In 2005 he completed his studies at “Theatre of the Body,” a school for physical theatre based on the Lecoq method.

He joined the Batsheva Ensemble in 2005, and between 2007–2008 danced with Riksteatern in Sweden in a joint project with Batsheva. From 2008 he worked as a freelance dancer in various productions, including Rooster and Monger by Barak Marshall, Na BaOzen by Dana Ruttenberg, the Clipa Theater, Michal Herman, Orna Porat Children’s Theater, Alice Dor-Cohen, Tami Veron and Yitzhaki, Osnat Kelner, and others.

Since 2010 he has created several works, among them pieces for the Suzanne Dellal Centre, the Ka’et Ensemble, the Dancers’ Training Workshop in Haifa, and various theatre groups. In 2015 he was in the United States as a guest Israeli artist through the Schusterman Foundation. In addition to being a Gaga teacher since 2007, he served as the director of the first teacher-training course in this movement language. He participated in “Project 48 Dance” as a choreographer, dancer, and dramaturg.

Idan has been the managing director of the Batsheva Ensemble since 2017.

 

URI SHAFIR

Uri Shafir is an Israeli dancer, choreographer and a performance artist. He is a graduate of the Kibbutz Ga'aton Dance Workshop, Kelim Choreography Center (Israel), and the MA choreography studies in Montpellier France, in the MASTER EXERCE program, at ICI-CCN. Uri has been creating independent works since 2009, and presenting them in different platforms and festivals in Israel and abroad.
Uri’s solo “The Koloklum” won the 1st prize in the MASH Choreography competition (Israel) and in Contact.Energy festival (Erfurt, Germany). As a dancer, worked in Ensemble Batsheva Dance Company, and in dance works by Yasmeen Godder, Niv Sheinfeld & Oren Laor, Dana Ruttenberg, and others. Uri is a Gaga teacher (Ohad Naharin's movement language), leading classes/workshops around the globe. Uri also leads classes and workshops investigating his working materials and choreographic methods, and is teaching in Seminar Hakibutzim Tel Aviv college of arts.

 

REUT SHATZ

Dancer. Graduate of Gaaton Dance School. Apprenticed with Inbal Pinto Dance Company and worked with several choreographers, among them: Uri Ivgi ("Sugar Cubes"), Nadar Rossano ("Baby"), Ariel Cohen ("Venus De Meatloaf") and Aviv Evgey ("Dimona", Euphoria – Working Title"). Reut is certified Massage Therapists combining Shiatsu and Twina techniques and is a student of Physical Therapy at the Tel Aviv University. Danced with DRDG between 2010-2012.

 

David SOFER

David Sofer is a conductor and pianist, born in 1976. He is a graduate of the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts and of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, where he studied orchestral conducting. David serves as the Music Director of the Thelma Yellin High School Symphony Orchestra, the Technion Symphony Orchestra and Wind Orchestra, the Israeli Doctors Orchestra, the Sharon–Herzliya Orchestra, and the Intergenerational Symphony Orchestra of Hod Hasharon.

He is the Artistic Director of the concert series “Interwoven Sounds” with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, and leads the “Alhan” program with the Galilee Orchestra – the Arab-Jewish Chamber Orchestra of the Polyphony Association for Education. David is the Director of the Herzliya Music Center, and previously served as Head of the Music Department at Reut School for the Arts in Haifa. He is regularly invited to work with orchestras in France, Italy, England, Germany, and Ireland.
